Legends Corner

Our favorite honky tonk located on the corner of 5th and Broadway, this bar is stop number one on our top five list. Have your cameras ready, this bar features a famous mural of country legends that makes for a great photo and even better memory. Decorated from head to toe in music memorabilia and records this venue has exceptional, traditional country tunes. 

Reasons to Visit

  • History: If you’re a history lover, you will find some very special memorabilia here. Don’t miss our personal favorite, a lifesize cutout of Billy Ray Cyrus!

  • Live Music: The BEST live music in town.

  • Mural: Photo op with the legends who paved the way.

Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge

One of Nashville’s most historic honky tonks, conveniently located next to Legends Corner, on Lower Broadway, Tootsie’s has been thriving since the 1960s. This purple-painted icon, named after its original owner, Tootsie Bess, is a must-visit for first time visitors. All three levels of the bar have their own unique type of music and vibe, making each floor an entirely new experience. 

The first floor features local artists, while the second and third floor house more established acts. If you visit Tootsie’s make sure you catch a view of Broadway from their rooftop bar!

If you’re a whiskey or cocktail lover the wide selection of beverages here will have your feet tapping along to the beat or maybe even visiting the large dance floor to let loose.

Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar

We love that so many of Nashville’s honky tonks are multilevel, and Jason Alden’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar has quickly grabbed a spot on our list of top five favorite bars. Every level you set foot on has its unique vibe and the rooftop bar is an incredible spot for viewing the Nashville skyline. The food here is quick to deliver that Southern cuisine that you’d hope for, while enjoying music with a view.

Honky Tonk Central

Head on down to Lower Broadway to expand your palate of music. Honky Tonk Central is a three-story bar that offers a wide variety of music from country to rock, and bands to DJs. The popular bar is lively from sun up to sun down.

Tips for Visiting Nashville Honky Tonks

  1. Expect crowds: Just like you, people have traveled from all over to enjoy the lively entertainment Nashville has to offer. Arriving early can help you find a good spot, especially on busy weekends.

  2. Carry cash: While many people don’t carry cash these days, some bars might have a cover so it’s nice to have on hand. Also, many bartenders prefer tips in cash so consider this for quick service.

  3. Wear your dancing shoes: You’re going to do a lot of dancing and exploring on your trip. Avoid the fancy footwear and opt for comfort for your trip.

  4. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate: Nashville can get hot and humid quickly. Don’t get too caught up in a good time. Try to maintain at least a one-to-one ratio of water to beer or cocktails.
