Our Story

From a Swipe Right to a Passport-Filled Love Story

On a chilly November night, a small-town girl swiped right on her suburban prince—and just like that, the first stamp in their love story was sealed. Their first date? Shared tacos and cocktails — Courtney fashionably late, Nick perfectly on time. A balance was struck, and the adventure began.

Just six weeks later, we rang in the New Year together on the lively streets of New Orleans. By month three, our journey took us across the Atlantic to the UK. Courtney, the seasoned traveler, surprised Nick, the whiskey enthusiast, with a spontaneous day trip to Scotland. Despite initial skepticism about the train ride from London to Edinburgh, Nick embraced the adventure—and fell head over heels for the city's charm, history, and Scotch. That trip became a turning point, the first of many moments that would become stamped memories in their shared passport of life.

The Proposal

On May 15, 2021, at a favorite local spot — Nick planned a proposal as thoughtful as it was romantic. In a castle courtyard, with nerves (and love) running high, he pulled out a bottle of Scotch they had picked up in Edinburgh. With that symbolic gesture and both of their families present, he asked Courtney to continue life’s journey together—and she said yes.

Tying The Knot

On October 19, 2022, we said “I do” at Neidpath Castle in Scotland—bringing our story full circle in the country where so many unforgettable memories were made. Today, we continue chasing adventures as partners, collecting passport stamps and stories from around the world. Through our travels, we share not just guides and itineraries—but the real, unscripted moments that make every journey unforgettable.

We’re big believers in intentional travel, which means we prioritize experiences that matter most and plan around them. We track our expenses, use points and miles when possible, and balance splurge-worthy moments with smart savings (like flying midweek, booking Airbnbs with kitchens, or hotels with breakfast included).
We mix structured planning with spontaneity. Courtney loves researching local culture, activities, and must-see sights, while Nick finds the foodie spots (and usually a great distillery). We each like to pick one activity that we deem as “non-negotiable” and then we build our itinerary around that. This helps us create a healthy balance to exploring new places while staying true to ourselves. You’ll find many of our curated itineraries and guides on the blog!
We’re not full-time travelers—just really efficient ones! We both work full time and use a combo of PTO, long weekends, and remote work flexibility. Planning ahead is key!
Of course — travel can be stressful! But we’ve learned that communication, compromise, and snacks go a long way. We try to balance downtime with activity, and we always give each other grace on the road.
Great question! We never travel without our refillable water bottles, a power bank, travel-size toiletries, comfortable shoes, and a reusable grocery bag. Courtney packs snacks (for Nick), while Nick always has charging cords, sunglasses, and gum.

Nick Menanno

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania I am the muscle behind the scenes. An avid fitness lover and self-proclaimed foodie I do a lot of research on physical activities and restaurants during our travels. Fun Fact, I didn’t travel outside of the United States until I was 28. Since we began traveling, I found that each culture is uniquely different and offers so much to learn.
Courtney Menanno

I like to think of myself as the planner of the pair—the organized half of this travel-loving duo. While Nick handles the heavy lifting (literally), I’m usually behind the scenes mapping out our next adventure.
With an outgoing personality, I’ve never met a stranger, which makes making friends around the world one of my favorite parts of travel. I work in marketing by day, and my love for exploring new places started early in life. Before we became a travel team, I was a solo adventurer and free spirit. Now, I’m still chasing new experiences—just with my favorite travel partner in tow—and always encouraging him to try something a little outside his comfort zone.
